Anti RSI Optical USB Computer Mouse

With repetitive strain injuries occasioned by extended computer use being one of the modern ailments of our age many computer accessory manufacturers have offered a series of variations concerning mouse design with the intention of minimising the risk of RSI but this particular mouse, the Anion Well Mouse to give it its correct title, is the first of its kind that we’ve come across to offer a wrist rest attachment.

As far as technical specifications are concerned, the Anion Well USB Mouse is fairly non-descript as far as computer mice go in offering a base level 800dpi optical resolution, left and right click buttons and a mouse wheel. Admittedly, in an obvious attempt to add a little design flair the scroll wheel is lit by an internal blue LED – which is nice in a fairly mundane sort of way – though with the wrist rest attachment connected it’s hardly as if this mouse needs an LED to distinguish itself from the crowd.

Initially we must confess that we thought that the addition of a wrist rest attachment was a little gimmicky for our tastes (and that comes from those who are partial to a gimmick or five) but then, after reflection, we actually decided it was probably a reasonable (even practical) idea.

The only problem is that, unless you happen to own a super-sized mouse mat, you’re going to keep loosing either the mouse or the wrist rest over the edge (which we can foresee as being extremely annoying). Still, that said, if you happen to own a mat (or mouse rug) the size of a small continent, or you simply use your mouse directly on your desk surface, and you are either prone to suffer, or feel that you are a prime candidate to succumb to RSI this optical computer mouse with integral wrist rest could be worth road testing.

Of course you could always just continue to use your current one eyed rodent and rest your wrists on a baguette. Decisions, decisions.
