USB Digital Camera Rocket Captures Video from 500 Feet

We’ve previously featured a rocket that’s capable of taking pictures from on high, but the SnapShot uses standard 35mm film whereas this Digital Video Rocket is an entirely modern (and therefore more geeky) gadget that is capable of taking not only still imagery at the top of its trajectory but is also able to capture up to 12 seconds of digital video – all of which can be uploaded straight to your PC.
The Digital Video Rocket will reach altitudes of up to 500 feet thanks to its Estes C6-5 disposable rocket engines – available in packs of three for $9.95 – enabling you to capture up to 15 still images or 12 seconds of video (both at 640 x 480 VGA resolution) during the brief flight courtesy of the downward facing, impact resistant digital camera housed in the rocket’s nose cone. Thanks to the rocket’s inbuilt USB connection, uploading the resulting imagery/video footage is as simple as just plugging the nose cone into your laptop or PC.

Great for adults and children alike, the Digital Video Rocket, which is constructed from hard-wearing injection moulded plastic (which is handy as we can only assume that the rocket simply falls back to earth without the benefit of a parachute), comes complete with launch pad and launch controller and retails for $60.
