Following on from their widely praised and previously featured Xacti E1 6 MP Waterproof Camcorder, Sanyo claim to have produced the world’s smallest 1080p High Definition camcorder with its pistol grip DMX-HD1000 which not only records at 1920 x 1080 resolution via HD/MPEG-4 but also offers still capture at not unreasonable 8 megapixels.

The Sanyo Xacti DMX-HD1000 HD features a 1/2.5 inch CMOS sensor, a fold out 2.7 inch LCD display, x10 optical zoom and relies on SD/HSHC memory cards for storage – with an 8GP SDHC card holding around one and a quarter hours of 1080p HD video footage.

The Sanyo Xacti DMX-HD1000 HD Camcorder now is available for around $680.
