SanDisk Sansa Clip Mini MP3 Player

Along with digital music players such as Creative’s Zen Stone (against which this new player will be directly competing), the newly announced Sansa Clip from SanDisk serves as yet another wholly credible excuse – as if we needed another - to completely bypass Apple’s seemingly fated and somewhat dull iPod Shuffle MP3 player.

Due to become available September in Black, pink (as every gadget is these days), red and blue the tiny Sansa Clip, which is around the size of a golf ball, will come in 1GB and 2GB flavours costing a very reasonable $40 and $60 and, as well as an inbuilt OLED screen comes with WMA and MP3 compatibility, voice memo recording and a built in FM radio. It also supports the playback of subscription based audio content.

And, whilst we think that the recently featured Trekstor iBeat Blaxx MP3 player is certainly our preference when it comes to looks (and name) we certainly prefer the Sansa Clip’s styling over that of Creative’s Zen Stone – though quite whether SanDisk’s new player will receive the level of hype Creative’s recent digital music player has enjoyed remains wholly open to question (we sincerely hope so).
