How many times have you looked for a file only to realise after an exhaustive search of your computer’s hard disk drives that you obviously deleted it during your last drive cleanout? Or perhaps, in a blind rage, you deleted a series of files that, having calmed down a little, you realise that you really wish you hadn’t? In either event if you’ve emptied the recycle bin then, apart from resorting to specialised data recovery programs, there’s little you can do. But that could soon change thanks to this intriguing Bluetooth gadget known as the Tempo designed by Franco Cagnina for Intech.
The Tempo, which is styled to look like a recycle bin works by automatically copying all deleted files to its 250 gigabyte internal hard disk drive with a series of LEDs lighting the unit from the bottom up as it fills with data so that you can tell at a quick glance just how much of the Tempo’s capacity is utilised.

Whilst one could argue that, with regular backups, such a device may well prove superfluous, the truth is that it never hurts to have another safety net covering you for all eventualities and whilst, in the main, the Tempo will become clogged with stuff you have no intentions of keeping its nice to know that on that one occasion you need that extra level of backup the Tempo could prove to be your savour.
