New Microsoft Sidewinder LCD Gamers Mouse

Whilst, if pressed, we would have to confess that we are very much on the Logitech side of the fence when it comes to keyboards and mice the newly announced Microsoft Sidewinder Gaming Mouse has certainly turned our heads as not only does it look the business it also boasts a staggering array of functions as well as an inbuilt LCD display.

As any hardened computer gamer knows, the feel and weighting of a mouse can make all the difference when it comes to pinpoint accuracy and, with that in mind, Microsoft have made a number of enhancements to the new sidewinder mouse that will undoubtedly be warmly welcomed.

Of these, the addition of four differing mouse weights which will allow you to tailor the new MS Sidewinder mouse weight to your tastes (from 5 to 30 grams) is an interesting feature especially when paired with a series of three user selectable mouse feet sets – each made of differing materials that offer various degrees of glide performance.

Additionally the new Sidewinder gaming mouse also comes with on the fly DPI switching allowing users to select either 400, 800 or 2000 DPI at will, with the selected setting being displayed on the mouse’s LCD screen - a great addition if you find that the mouse is a little too sensitive in a certain game.

While changing the weight sounds mainly like a novelty feature to me, being able to switch the DPI on the fly is great.

Some games require you to not only move around, but pilot craft as well. Having the ability to adjust the mouse sensitivity for the situation is a big bonus!

Agreed, its a very good idea - though I kind of like the weights though I’ve know idea why :-)
