HP R937 Camera with Onboard Digital Slimming Feature

The camera never lies, so they say. Though, these days, with digital photo manipulation software well and truly in the hands of the masses, it’s increasingly the case this adage no longer holds true – if it ever truly did. And, in the case of Hewlett Packard’s new R937 digital camera you now have another means of distorting the truth into a doctored interpretation of the truth as it comes complete with an intriguing function known as the Slimming Tool that will, quite literally, shed pounds from your subjects at the touch of a button.

Apart from helping your subjects to loose weight, the Hewlett Packard R937 digital camera also comes with another impressive feature in the form of its onboard Panorama Stitch function that will automatically remember each image you take so as to offer guidelines to ‘ensure that the next one matches up’ culminating in the camera stitching the images together to create panoramas consisting of up to 5 separate shots.

It’s undoubtedly impressive stuff.

Other features of note include adaptive lighting, image tagging (allowing the creation of image groups), red eye removal for humans and pets as well as a plethora of onboard post production effects such as cartoon creation, sketch effects and the artificial aging of images.

On a more mundane level, the HP R937 digital camera boasts 8.15MP effective resolution, 3x optical/8x digital zoom, VGA video recording and one of the largest LCD TFT screens we’ve ever seen on a comparably sized camera – 3.6in at 960 x 240 totalling 230400 pixels.

The HP R937 digital camera comes with a meagre 32MB of internal memory (enough to store a mere 5 images- though this is thankfully expandable via and SD Card slot) and retails for £229 direct from HP in the UK.
