When I was young the closest we got to having lighting effects at parties was either to ‘borrow’ a construction site strobe light (dig that yellow flash) or to take turns turning a spot light on and off in time to the music. Things then began to change as cutting edge technology came into play and traffic light style flashing light units became available, and it was all good.
Of course, these days you can buy the sort of lighting effect units that flared shirted DJs would have previously positively salivated over for next to nothing, and this Lightcast disco lighting unit is a great case in point.
The Lightcast consists of a 33 LED equipped parabolic projection unit that will offer a dynamic lightshow that works in sync to your music which can be piped through to the device via a home hi-fi unit, a computer or an MP3 unit – the result being a beautifully tacky 80’s disco feel that’s sure to bring back a host of distant memories as well as a series of appalling dance moves.

Sing along now…….D.I.S.C.O.
The unit comes complete with a remote controller allowing you to switch between smooth, flow, vibe (yeah man) and pulse modes as well as set the focal length of the resulting light shows to ‘match your mood’.
The Lightcast Interactive MP3 Disco Lightshow retails for £49.95 – approximately $99 at the time of writing.
