Like many, I suspect, about the only constellation I can identify in the night sky with any sense of certainty is the Plough. But with the aid of this handy pocket sized gadget, known as the Star Pocket, I could soon be casually pointing out constellations such as Andromeda, the Corona Borealis and the Canis Major.
Using the cleverly designed Star Pocket couldn’t be easier. Simply twist the outer dials to show the correct date and your present approximate co-ordinates and then, using the compass embedded in the end of the Star Pocket, align yourself accordingly and peer through the lens housed in the gadget’s body to see the constellations laid out in front of you, complete with titles.

The only slight problem will be that you’ll need to understand Japanese in order to read them - but think how impressed your friends will be as you not only identify the most obscure of constellations, but do so in Japanese prior to giving them all a go on your Tasco Rocket Backpack Telescope so they can hone in on your observations for themselves.
Well, okay, this gadget may not serve to boost your popularity in the social stakes quite as much as this – excuse my flippancy – but, for the amateur astronomer or anyone who has ever found themselves staring up at the night sky in wonder the Star Pocket could prove to be a worthy addition to your hoard of gadgetry.
Alternatively, if you would rather stare up at the night sky without leaving the comfort of your front room, you may find the HomeStar Personal Planetarium of interest.
