Two weeks ago we published a post concerning Hitachi’s announcement that a new HD Blu-Ray based Camcorder was in the pipeline and today Hitachi has officially announced its DZ-BD7H and DZ-BD70 Blu-Ray HD Camcorders.

The Hitachi DZ-BD7H differs from the DZ-BD70 in that it records full HD 1920×1080 video onto both Blu-Ray discs and an internal 30GB hard disk whilst the DZ-BD70 is wholly reliant on Blu-Ray discs alone for storage and will record up to around an hour of full High Definition video to a single disc.
The Hitachi DZ-BD7H and DZ-BD70 HD Blu-Ray Camcorders are due to go on sale in Japan from August 30 with a US and European release stated for October.
