The moment we came across these mini football robots we couldn’t help but draw comparisons with the previously featured Hex Bugs though, unlike the Hex Bugs, these are not autonomous but instead rely on remote control units in order to strut their stuff on their mini football pitch.
These curiously titled Mr Soccer Football Robots, apart from looking quite cool – we especially like their 2xAAA battery pack backpacks – basically consist of an RC unit on wheels with two mini arms that have been designed to enable you to dribble and ‘kick’ the small ball supplied with the kit across the plastic football pitch.

The kit comes with two individual bots (red and blue), each with their own remote controller though additional Football Bots can be added up to a maximum of 14 units.
Admittedly the technology is hardly ground breaking – they are just RC units after all – but they look like great fun and these would be great for lunchtime inter office tournaments at work.
The Mr Soccer Football Bots 2-bot set, complete with soccer pitch and controllers, retails for around $83 / £41 / €61.
