Brushed Stainless Steel Toaster with LCD Screen

LCD screens are appearing everywhere these days, so why not build one into a toaster?

This 800 watt 2 slice toaster from Krups comes with a brushed stainless steel finish, 8 toasting settings with variable browning and cool wall technology with the inbuilt screen offering a countdown to let you know when your toast is going to be ready.

Admittedly, the inclusion of an LCD screen is rather gimmicky but we generally like the styling and, personally, anything with an LCD screen is alright by us.

The TT6190 Brushed Stainless Steel Toaster with LCD Screen retails for $59 though, as yet, there’s no news as to whether the next model will offer Vista Slideshow capabilities or the capability to talk to this wi-fi fridge magnet (for no reason whatsoever).

I know I should be ridiculing this as completely pointless, technology for technology’s sake, a waste of money…..

But let’s be honest. I love it! Doesn’t even matter to me that it displays the time remaining, although that is a bonus. I want one! It’s a work of art, and it makes toast too! What more could you ask for?

    Hi Richard,

I know how you feel. I tool want to find it tacky if not rather pretentious and yet, strangely, I like it.

I suspect that says more about me than it does the toaster, though.

(Still think it should be networked…lol)

Networked too! How could I not have thought of that? You’re brilliant! I like it! I’d be giggling like a little boy if I could, for instance, tell it to begin toasting my clicking a toast button on the PC!

Okay, silly since you’d have to go over and load the thing with bread first, but somehow I’m very drawn to the idea. :)

Then you could have an (equally) useless widget on your desktop displaying the time remaining and current temperature of the toaster. Hmm, I wonder if they have any employment openings?
