DMR-U200 USB DMB 1GB Receiver – Digital Broadcasts via a Beetle

There was a time when it was seemingly obligatory for devices such as this to be boxy, beige coloured affairs with about as much design flair as a cardboard box. Thankfully that time has long since passed allowing designers of computer peripherals to engage us with inspiring, eye ctaching designs such as this DMR-U200 USB DMB 1GB Receiver.
Resembling a beetle – and apparently based on a ladybird beetle, though it looks more like a stag beetle to us – the DMR-U200 serves not only as a USB mass storage device (either with 512 or 1GB capacities dependent on the model) but as highly portable, self installing DMB device – complete with time-shift functionality – allowing for access to and the recording of digital media broadcasts in MPEG4/H.264 format via a laptop or PC.

The distinctively playful DMR-U200 USB DMB 1GB Receiver (link is to English translation) retails for 89,900Won (which equates to $96 / €72 / £49 at the time of writing). However, it should be noted that it would appear that the device will only function as intended in Korea and Europe.
