Personal UV Exposure Monitoring Gadget

It’s been sunny for a whole two days here in the UK and, by way of celebration, not only have I removed my TFTS embroidered Tank Top (this was, perhaps, going a little too far) but we follow a post about the cool Shade Blade Sunglasses with this, a post about a gadget that acts as a personalised UV exposure monitor. Well, you can’t blame us – after all, it’ll probably be snowing for the rest of the month.
Manufactured by the cool bods at Oregon Scientific, the UV888A Personal UV Monitor not only accurately measures and displays the current UV index but it also provides a UV exposure timer that calculates the recommended sun exposure time based on the current UV index, the SPF of the sun crème you’re wearing and your skin type – thus ensuring that, whilst you get to enjoy the sun, you don’t overdo it. Or, in other words, it’s yet another gadget that acts to negate any sense of personal responsibility by removing the need for us to engage our brains and call upon basic common sense whilst being radiated by our favourite star.
UV888A Personal UV Monitor Details:
- Monitors harmful UV ray exposure from the sun.
- Compact unit displays time and temperature.
- Instruction manual included.
- Calculates exposure time based on UV, SPF and skin type.
- Exposure time automatically updates with changes in UV intensity.
- Includes handy wrist strap.
- Power source is one CR2032 battery (included).
- One-year factory warranty.
The Oregon Scientific UV888A Personal UV Monitor, which also functions as a clock, retails for a mere $19.99.
