Whilst the HTC Touch cell phone may not look quite as eye catching as the previously featured Onyx next-gen cell phone, which also features gesture recognition, the HTC Touch, unlike the Onyx concept, is already in production and due to hit the shelves this month (in fact, it’s even stated as being already available from selected outlets in the UK).
Featuring HTC’s TouchFLO technology, the HTC Touch features a touch screen that will can recognise the difference between a finger and a stylus, thus facilitating the use of gestures to control the phones animated menus and functions by sweeping your finger in ‘gestures’ across its 2.8 inch backlit 240×320 LCD screen.

Powered by a OMAP 850 201MHz processor, the 112 gram GSM/GPRS/Edge HTC Touch cell phone is based on the Windows Mobile 6 Professional operating system and comes with 64MB of SDRAM (expandable via a MicroSD slot) and 128MB of ROM, a 2.0 megapixel camera, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity and, naturally, full Windows Media Player support.
Further details, including an interactive demonstration of the HTC Touch’s TouchFLO technology in operation can be accessed via the official HTC Touch Website.
