General Motors has now released details concerning its Hummer branded cell phone which has been designed specifically for them by French firm Modelabs. However, as really ought to have been expected the device is somewhat utilitarian in nature with the phone’s ‘highlights’ being a rather rudimentary 2 megapixel camera supported by 256MB of internal memory (further expandable via a microSD slot) and – gasp – an FM radio and GPRS internet support.

Whilst we don’t doubt that Hummer fanatics will flock to buy the HT1, which is due to be released initially in Europe at a retail price of 300 Euros ($409), we cannot see this particular cell phone setting the world alight regardless of the fact that it also comes in a camouflaged version – (you would think that the phone’s ’sellable’ gimmick would be a little more inspiring than that, wouldn’t you?).
