Undoubtedly a turntable reserved for serious audiophiles with cash to burn, the belt drive TEAC VPI HR-X not only looks the business but it comes with an air cushioned 50mm thick platter ensuring that mechanical resistance as well as the impacts of vibration are kept to an absolute minimum – though weighing in at a colossal 52.5kgs we suspect that it would take vibrations measurable via the Richter scale to even remotely affect this colossus.
The TEAC VPI HR-X Designer Turntable is due to be released mid June for a cool $90,000.
