Apparently, the PlayStation 4 could become available in as little as 18 months, if an Australian tech website – who claim to have spoken with a Sony insider - is to be believed.
According to their source, the PlayStation 4 will be based on the very same chipset as the PS3 but will offer a differing ‘drive bay attachment area’ as well as a software suite to allow content streaming to televisions and audio equipment. In short, if the report is to be believed then the PS4 is destined not only to serve as a games console but a wide ranging home based all round entertainment server. However, Sony have been quick to pour cold water on mounting speculation concerning this apparent ‘insider leak’.
