If you have ever wanted to build your own MP3 player, this MP3 kit from Motz will enable to do just that and, on account of the units diminutive size it should allow you to embed the device within just about anything.
The device itself, known as the DIY Music Box, consists of a basic MP3 unit complete with 256MB of inbuilt memory, a tiny Li-Polymer battery pack, a mini joystick style controller and a headphone port which also functions as a USB 2.0 connection courtesy of the supplied adapter. The device is Windows compatible (no mention of Mac compatibility I’m afraid) and accepts MP£, WMA and OGG file formats.

Functions are rudimentary, as you would expect – track play, skip forward and back and volume control – but, considering the unit’s potential in assisting you to build your own, totally unique MP3 digital music player we hardly think that this is a deal breaker.

The DIT MP3 kit retails at approximately $45 and further details, as well as further imagery, can be obtained from this Korean online retailer.

What size audio port is on the MP3 player? Is it a 2.5mm? If so, I have been looking everywhere for a USB adapter like the one you have pictured there. I need to go from a USB to a 2.5mm audio. Can you help me?
