TFTS Logo

Whether you are a seasoned subscriber to our feed, a regular visitor or are just passing by we would love to hear your views about the site – positive or negative.

As we gain in popularity – and we have you to thank for this as well as the countless hours we put into the site – we are constantly looking for ways in which we can improve your experience of Thoughts from the Sidelines. So if you could take a moment to offer some feedback we would greatly appreciate hearing from you (you do not have to register to leave a comment by the way).

We have implemented a number of additional components on the site of late but, never ones just to sit back, with your help and feedback we can act to tailor TFTS to your expectations.

Thanks for the feedback – much appreciated :-)

Hi, that’s a great idea concerning the feed – thank you. I’ll look into it this evening.

I agree – images in the feed. And full-content feeds would be nice instead of just summaries. If you’re worried about revenue, try Text Link Ads for some feedvertising. I would rather have ads in the feed than have to click through for every post.

    Hi Kat,

I am certainly looking to implement this feature based on the comments here, however, the catch is that if I ran full feeds I would need to run the ads in the feed and I am uncertain how people feel about this.

Arguably, I could run a full feed without ads but with my bandwidth climbing through the roof a meeting costs is a concern. The bandwidth is large on account of the raising number of visits (not complaining lol) and the use of large imagery that I don’t compress at expense of quality.

How do people feel – perhaps a full feed with unobtrusive ads? Please do let me know.

Like I said, I’d take ads in the feed.

I love your site. You find the coolest stuff around and you need to do only one thing to make the site perfect and that is full feeds. Everyone who starts a site feels they will get more visitors if they offer partial feeds when in reality that’s the farthest thing from the truth. If you decide to go full feeds you subscriber base will grow exponentially and with your growing subscriber base they will help spread your content and drive more traffic to the site. That is the secret behind all the big blogs who all happen to offer full feeds.

    Re: bandwidth
Since you use feedburner all the bandwidth from your feeds is absorbed from feedburner, it will not cost you anything. It’s one of the biggest perks that feedburner offers (besides all the great stats).

If you go full feeds it will only cause your site to grow

    Hi Vic,

Many thanks for stopping by and for you very kind words concerning TFTS (praise from Uberreview is praise indeed :-) )

I’m a big Fan of Uberreview – and a daily visitor.

I’ve been working on getting the full feed up and running and, at last, it is now implemented.
