Anyone who has ever dabbled with plastic models such as Airfix may well have found the previously featured Snap-a-Patry Instant Party Set (featured below) instantly appealing and now we have this rather geeky snap apart plastic toolkit to add to the collection.

Featuring a total of 5 tools in sixteen parts – including a screw driver with multiple attachments, a spanner and tweezers – this highly portable snap apart tool kit retails for a mere 315 Yen (approximately $2.65 / €1.97 / £1.34) and, in our opinion, is a stroke of sheer design brilliance.

More details can be obtained via this Japanese site (link offered is to an English translation) which, incidentally, is well worth reading, if only for paragraphs such as: ‘As for tool 5 types. The driver which corresponds to also the hexagon. It is small, the pincette which grasps the thing, assists. The spanner, and the wrench which correspond to four size. And [sukureba] which can be used for the exfoliation such as seal and soiling dropping. This has reached set.’
