The BodyBugg Calorie Management Gadget

With society becoming evermore health conscious and issues such as increased obesity grabbing column inches in newspaper and magazines with an appetite comparable to the condition it addresses their has never been a more opportune time to keep a check of the vehicle than carries your brain from A to B and, if you’re lucky, back again.

Personally if I eat a biscuit I look like I’ve swallowed a Frisbee – to the point at which the wife likes nothing better than to spin me round and watch as I bounce off walls for the next four hours – but for those for whom weight is an issue it’s not difficult to see why this BodyBugg Calorie Management Gadget from BodyMedia could be considered a valuable asset in their dieting regime.

Worn discreetly on the arm, the BodyBugg compares the calories consumed in relation to the calories burned via a series of sensors placed against the skin, thus allowing you to keep an accurate record of your Total Energy Expenditure as you go about your daily business.

The range of sensors contained within the BodyBugg is as impressive as it is extensive and includes a skin temperature monitor, galvanic skin response sensor (measuring the skin’s water content and constriction or dilation of the vascular periphery), a heat sensor and a two axis motion sensor combining to offer an extremely detailed array of information concerning your present well being.

The BodyBugg also comes complete with web application software that allows you to log the wealth of data pooled as well as view exercise plans and meal recommendations all of which should – in theory – result in a versatile tool to help you on your way and track your achievements.

The BodyBugg retails at $399 and, for further details, you can visit the official BodyBugg site via this link.

This looks like a great gadget for those truly interested in losing weight via portion control.

Portion control is huge! The average American woman is consuming 335 calories per day more than she did 30 years ago. Doing the math, these means that the typical American woman needs to walk 75 minutes per day MORE than she did 30 years ago simply to maintain her weight, not lose an ounce. This is probably not going to happen in our hectic society, and as we continue with these outlandish portions, obesity continues to skyrocket. Thanks!
