LED Lightmare Watch – Tell the Time with Dots

We’ve seen many watches that appeal to us in one form or another, but it’s the sheer simplicity and understated elegance fused with a distinctly modern yet curiously retro flavour that makes the Lightmare Digital LED Watch stand out from the crowd as it manages to be eye-catching without being ludicrously crass, undeniably geeky without being pretentious.
In essence the design is simple. Four small LEDs displayed in the center represent the minutes between each of the five minute increments, two more LEDs represent either AM or PM whilst a further two LEDs represent the hour and minutes (in increments).

The watch itself is constructed from stainless steel and is water resistant to 150 feet and, when not in use, the LEDs simply switch off to show a black face (the press of a button will display the time for an interval of 5 seconds after the dots have swirled around the watches face). Very cool.
Unfortunately, at the time of writing the Lightmare watch is only available with red LEDs, which is a shame as we would like to see a version with ice blue LEDs (blue LEDs are so much cooler, don’t you think?).
The Lightmare LED Digital Watch retails at $145 and can be purchased here.
