According to the designer, Martin Pråme the “Boa is an electrical kitchen scale that does not need batteries nor power from an outlet. Instead the user generates the small amount of power needed when he/she ‘opens’ the device. With Boa, you can get the precision and ease of electrical scales, without the economic and environmental impacts of battery or outlet powered units.”
Unfortunately, this cool gadget is only a concept at the time of writing, but what a fantastic concept it is. Let’s hope it makes it into production, as kitchen scales have never been so interesting.
