The Bamboo Fluorescent Tube Light
An increasing trend in modern product design is to replicate nature in some way, or at least to borrow elements taken from nature and apply them in a manner that results in a highly stylised aesthetic – previously featured examples being the Daisy Chain Electrici-Tree and the Bulldang Intestinal Sofa (to name but two).
This cleverly styled fluorescent tube light, in being modelled on a stick of bamboo, therefore becomes an item of strip lighting that, quite apart from being hidden behind coverings (as most strip lighting is) becomes an item of curious beauty that needs to be seen, rather than be hidden away or, rather, its form becomes as important as its function. And we like it.
Only a prototype at the time of writing, we very much hope that this wonderful take on otherwise dull strip lighting makes it into the marketplace.
