We don’t have a camera lens category on TFTS, and nor are we likely to ever have one, so I wondered whether I should post this but the sheer size of Sigma’s new APO 200-500mm F2.8 Lens got the better of me. Apparently therefore, the wife is right, size is everything.
Billed by Sigma as the world’s first Ultra Telephoto Zoom lens the APO 200-500mm EX DG Lens is so big it positively dwarfs the camera its attached to and even has its own inbuilt LCD panel. Just to add even more to the capabilities of this colossal lens it also comes with a dedicated 2x Tele Converter changing the lens into a 400-1000mm F5.6.
Expect to see this paraded at airshows and concerts by those in knitted sweaters the moment it’s released, though pricing and the weight of the lens (it has its own handle) is yet to be confirmed.
More pictures of this truely mammoth lens after the jump.

And you thought getting stuck behind a caravan whilst trying to go on holiday was bad?
