Balloophone – The Speech Bubble Smart Phone
The Balloophone is a fascinatingly quirky cell phone concept from designer Dima Komissarov, the same person who came up with the frankly brilliant previously featured Flashbang USB memory stick. Resembling a cartoon style speech bubble the Balloophone features a colour touchscreen that communicates with the user in a comic style language and features a removable USB drive that can be used to transfer files between the phone and a computer.
On the reverse side of the phone an additional black and white screen also displays random inscriptions such as you would see in a cartoon strip whilst the main colour screen will adapt according to the tilt of the phone (very much in the same way that the iPhone’s screen adapts when the phone is rotated).
Admittedly the chances of this ever becoming a commercially available product are probably extremely slim to non-existent, but as a concept it certainly made us smile.
