Emergency cell mobile charger You can almost guarantee that on the extremely rare occasions you actually need to make an urgent call from your mobile that your battery charge is almost maliciously on its last bar of juice and the phone is merely waiting for you to connect the call before it powers down. Alternatively, of course, you could own a Nokia N80 which has the uncanny ability to immediately drain its battery the moment I get within a meter’s radius of the damn thing (but that’s another story).

But help is now at hand as, enter stage left, the emergency phone charger, a simple aluminium device that runs on a single AA battery which will ensure that when the chips are down and your mobile is conspiring against you, you can administer the electrical equivalent of a Viagra tablet – or, in other words, a handy gadget that will give you up to an extra two hours charge to rely on.

I have one of those flashlights you just shake to charge it up. Maybe they could do the same trick with a cell phone?
You would have to remove it from your ear prior to shaking it, of course.
