Jack PC – The Wall Plug Computer
If you run a company and are finding that office space is at a premium what with all the separate desktop PCs required, Israeli company Chip PC Technologies may just have the answer – a PC contained in a wall socket.
Primarily designed for business, the Jack PC is based upon an AMD AU 1550 RISC based CPU running Windows CE .Net 4.2 with 64-128MB of internal memory (dependant on model), up to 8MB video memory, 16-bit stereo audio, 4xUSB ports and is capable of displaying resolutions of up to 1600×1200.
Needless to say, it’s not actually a replacement for a stand alone PC as such as a terminal server is required in order to run the ports, but as far as businesses are concerned this extremely novel device could prove not only a great space saver but also rather more economical that purchasing or leasing separate, bulky workstations for each employee.
The official site has a host of information concerning this fascinating device, including an extensive FAQ, and it can be accessed via this link.
