Video – Plen the Desktop Robot
Produced by Japanese company Akazawa, Plen is a 23cm tall, 700 gram bipedal desktop robot powered by a 32 bit 33 MHz processor that can be controlled either via a computer or even via Bluetooth from a mobile phone and he has a few rather neat tricks up his little electronic sleeves as not only can he walk and dance but he can also skate – both on roller skates and even on a skate board.
Costing circa $2000 USD, you can see a couple of videos of the wonderful Plen Desktop Robot in action below. You can also link to the official Plen website via this link, however, as the site is flash based I am unable to link to an English translation of the Japanese page for you I’m afraid. That said, it’s well worth a visit if only to look at the imagery available.
