I recall with all too vivid clarity when I ordered my PC steering wheel a while back in a failed bid to win at least a couple of online races against what I suspected were pre-pubescent kids who were, and let’s not mince words here, whipping my ass at said races time after time. It seemed like a good idea at the time.
What I hadn’t expected is for the steering wheel to convey with alarming ease the vast financial reserves required for its purchase to the point at which myself and my wife remained incommunicado for a somewhat blissful few days. Quite how long communication would break down should one of these gaming chassis arrive by special delivery is therefore anyone’s guess though I suspect we may be talking in terms of months (and for that reason alone, I can’t help but find it tempting as, frankly, living with someone whose capable of sustaining three thousand words per minute on an hour by hour basis is undeniably taking its toll both mentally and physically).
Available in various formats, from the Hotseat GT Racer platform to the Flightsim chassis these kits are aimed squarely at the most serious of gamers who have money to burn as prices peak at a somewhat cool $4000 for which you’ll get Dolby 5.1 surround sound, a 23” widescreen HD LCD display, a steering wheel or yoke and pedals as well as the computer itself (though its by no means an especially high-spec machine) and, of course, the chassis with seat.
You can gain more details from the Hotseat website via this link, though, if you’re married, I would consider adding the legal costs associated with an impeding divorce to the resulting financial outlay.
