The Football Pitch Rug

Following on from the Drop Dead Rug featured a while back on TFTS this Football Pitch Rug – or Soccer Pitch Rug for those American readers amongst you – once again proves that even the humble rug can become an interesting focal point with a little imagination.

Available from this Japanese outlet – a link is to an English translation of the site for those unable to read Japanese is provided here – the rug comes in two sizes, regular or mini, measuring 60×90cm and 140×200cm respectively, and is manufactured from what would appear to be machine washable acrylic woven in four hues of green so as to resemble grass.

From what I can gather from the English translation of the site it would seem that international orders are not being accepted as this juncture though one suspects that it’s only a matter of time until either this item, of imitations of it, become available elsewhere.

One can just imagine the arguments that could ensue should one own such a rug as you inform your partner that they’re offside as they do the vacuuming you promised to do a week ago but have never quite got round to doing.
