When people of my generation were knee high to a grasshopper, and computers were the size of small countries, many of us dabbled with plastic model kits and succeeded in making beautiful scale models which were displayed with pride. Others, such as myself, however, only succeeded in being a little excessive with the glue which resulted in a quick trip to the doctors to have the fuselage of a Boeing 747 surgically removed from our fingertips before calling it a day.
Either ways, these plastic model kits were extremely popular and, in mind of this and the fact that even the biggest names in the plastic modelling industry are facing increasingly tough times, it is nice to see designs such as this wall sculpture from Jellio Design pay homage to the pursuits of yesteryear.
Weighing in at 20lbs and measuring 44”x44” this rather unique limited edition wall mounting, constructed from polyurethane resin and finished in metallic silver, is sure to grace any suitably retro themed room though, as is so often the case, style such as this comes at a premium ($2500.00 to be exact).
