There are two types of advertisement. The first is the obvious, unimaginative and somewhat traditional “Here’s my product - isn’t it great” type that leaves little, if any impression, and there’s the type of advert that, invariably though the use of surreal imagery, forces us to sit back and take notice. And this animated advertisement for the Zune created by that masters of the bizarre at TokyoPlastic certainly falls into the latter of these categories.
Featuring a curious creature whose very appearance had me crossing my legs – I can’t imagine why – this is one of the most striking ad’s we’ve seen here at TFTS for quite a while and, for that reason, we felt compelled to share it with you.
The question is - is there a subliminal message here and, if there is, what could it possibly be?

A very interesting commercial. For the life of me I could not figure out what it was selling. In desperation, I had to Google “Zune” to find out.
Incidently, this commercial reminds of “Spore” a much anticipated game coming out next year.
Spore?- I’ve not heard of that. I’ll have to google for it to have a look.
Yeah I thought it was kind of phallic, and like many, I was baffled as well.
Any other explanations ?
Amazing beautiful animation. Baffled? Phallic? …. Although having said that I did watch it with my female colleagues and by the end there wasn’t a dry seat in the house
