Apart from having an obvious aversion to the letter “e”, Flickr has rapidly become known as being one of the net’s most popular and respected free image storing and sharing sites and now, in a clever move, a chap by the name of Marco Gomes is offering a new site based on Flickr which will hunt down quality free desktop wallpapers for you from this image sharing site based on your search criteria.
You either love or hate the very notion of desktop wallpaper, but a good background image can undoubtedly act to raise the spirits and bring a little character to proceedings and I must say that if you are interested in quality wallpaper (without the “e”) then this site, named somewhat predictably as “Wallpapr” is a great free resource.
First impressions are impressive, with the scope and quality of the imagery being returned from a search term being of extremely good quality and, if it helps to steer people from the numerous wallpaper sites that have millions of redirects then that can hardly be considered a bad thing.
You can link directly to the Wallpapr page via this link.
Update:
This post has been amended as I originally thought that Flickr were behind this site. This is not the case as the site has been created by Marco Gomes (who is not part of Flickr) and who has kindly contacted me to advise that my original assumption was incorrect. I have therefore amended the article to see that Marco is correctly, and justly credited for this great resource. You can read Marcus’s comment below. (Thanks for getting in touch, Marcus).

Hi!
I have a correction. Wallpapr was made by me, Marco Gomes, a Brazilian with insomnia and not by Flickr.
Thanks for the link and REALLY thanks for thinking than it was made by Flickr, this is a signal of quality.
The application was updated, the search engine is smartest. Look.
Thanks again
Thanks for the heads up Marco, I have amended the article accordingly. And, certainly, the fact that I originally thought that this site was offered by Flickr is indeed a mark of its quality.
Thanks for getting in touch (I have mailed you separately, of course).
