Personally I am not one for exercise, but I respect that there are people out there who like to run around aimlessly and pick up heavy things for no reason over and over and, for those to whom this applies, I present you with one of the most seemingly pointless contraptions I think I have ever seen.
The Treadmill Bike is exactly what you’d expect it to be – a treadmill fixed to a bike. In order for the bike to move you don’t pedal, you either walk or run depending on the speed you wish to travel, not that you’ll be going any faster on this bike than if you were simply running without it.
And, as you can see in the video featured below, it all looks like a lot of hard work (though at least your designer trainers won’t get dirty).

Curiously, my wife actually thinks that the Treadmill Bike is a marvellous idea and, on that premise, whilst she is out of the house this evening having her “girls night” I intend to remove the engine from her car and cut a hole in the bottom of the chassis so as to enable her to try running her car to work every day.
Let’s see how long it takes until the novelty wears off. My bet is she’ll have had enough before she’s even managed to reverse off the driveway.

Like bottled water, this is one of those ridiculously stupid ideas that actually has the potential to somehow become a huge hit.
.. and who records voice-overs with a TV blaring in the background??? Pffft! Amateurs.
