In Pursuit of the “Ideal”

With lifestyle magazines, advertisers and fashion houses having been in the news a great deal of late with respect to their concept and portrayal of beauty, I could not let this video pass without an airing on Thoughts from the Sidelines as it serves to show just what can be achieved by makeup artists, hair stylists and, last but by no means least, the ever dependable Photoshop.

In the video featured after the jump you’ll see the complete transformation take place in fast forward – and the results achieved are as impressive as they are sobering as the model in the finalised billboard image is most certainly not the woman who posed for the initial shots.
