Dolls from the Fringes of a Nightmare

strangedollsheaderIn this new category Thoughts from the Sidelines will focus on internet sites that, in some way, stand clear from the crowd – and the first entry in this section certain servers to underpin what this section stands for as it is both cute and numbingly disturbing, and most certainly highly original.

Strangedolls offers exquisite, highly original hand made dolls that genuinely send shivers down the spine. These are dolls that have seemingly been born from the fringes of a tortuous nightmare, and it is testament to the artistic integrity of the designer that, rather than pander to cliché she has managed to produce dolls that are undoubtedly disturbing and thought provoking without being passé in that they are neither under, nor over stated.

These are not dolls for children. These are collector items for adults who are honest enough to acknowledge, if not wholly embrace, their own insecurities and face their subconscious fears head on and, in that, it is impossible not to acknowledge that these are more than just dolls – these are the very embodiment of what we all have hidden away inside us.

These are items of apocalyptic items of curious and yet supreme beauty.

Those dolls certainly are strange. I have a new blog rosedesrochers.net

Maybe I should link you there too?

Ps: I’m sorry I have not been by. I have been busy. I was cleaning out my inbox, when I saw your email and remembered that I needed to ad your link.
